At last, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have made millions of music fans overjoyed as the award-winning duo has announced the upcoming release of their fifth studio album.  ‘Bigger Houses’ will drop on September 15th, and will feature their brand new single, “Save Me The Trouble”.

Dan + Shay have made themselves a staple in country music since releasing their debut album less than a decade ago.  Their harmonies, vocal comradery, and emotionally-driven lyrics have touched the hearts of millions of fans in country music and beyond.  That trend will undoubtedly continue with “Save Me The Trouble”, as Smyers and Mooney have picked up right where they left off, delivering a spot on tune that plays to all their strengths.

The vocal range and delivery are perfectly on point, with the somewhat subdued verses erupting into the powerful chorus.  Both members’ voices are showcased throughout the track, revealing once again just how talented these two are as singers…as if we needed any reminder.

Since the end of their touring run in support of their fourth record, ‘Good Things,’ in 2021, the pair took some much-needed time off to recharge and reflect, and now they are back and better than ever.  The new tune represents all the elements of Dan + Shay’s music that we have fallen in love with over the years while also opening the door to new horizons.

“I feel like this song is just everything that our fans love, but also pushing the boundaries a little bit”, Mooney shared.  “This is the very first song off of a new project, which I feel like marks a new era – Just a new way of going about our lives and our career, which I’m very excited about.”

“If you’re the kinda girl that’s only gonna wanna love and leave

A guy like me

Alone in this bar drinking double

Why don’t you save me the trouble”

In a short amount of time, Dan + Shay have made themselves one of the more accomplished duos of their generation.  Since the release of their debut album, ‘Where It All Began,’ in 2014, they have had five of their singles top the Country Airplay chart and two top the Hot Country Songs Chart.  They have won multiple Grammy Awards, CMT Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and Billboard Music Awards, all the while selling out countless concerts across the nation and beyond.  And yet, despite the accolades and accomplishments, it still feels as though the best is yet to come for this duo.

The duo has also announced that “Bigger Houses” and “Heartbreak on the Map” will follow “Save Me The Trouble” as singles from their upcoming record.  They currently have 11 dates listed on their tour page in August and September, but with the pending release of a highly anticipated new album, one can only speculate as to when a full-fledged tour announcement will follow.

For now, let’s all rejoice in the fact that we have brand new material from one of the most talented duos in country music.
