In a country music world oozing with influences stretching from pop, rock, and R&B genres, Drake White continues to distinguish himself as one of the most unique and original artists today.

The country-soul singer-songwriter is building anticipation for what his ever-growing fanbase can expect from the next chapter of his career as he releases his latest track, “Spirit”.  Co-written by Drake along with Leslie Satcher and Phil Pence, the tune serves as a glimpse into the new direction of a forthcoming EP release.

Having wrapped an eight-gig tour through Ireland, Scotland and England, White’s new tune premiered on the UK’s BBC Radio late last week.

True to its core, “Spirit” pays homage to those with a rambling heart.  It’s an emotional and unapologetically honest deep-dive into the life of a rolling stone, for better or for worse.  The song is a sophisticated approach to a reflective journey of self-exploration, an anthem for the traveling man (or woman), with its easy-going nature from start to finish.

Co-produced by White along with Matthew Ridenour, “Spirit” finds Drake right in his comfort zone, crooning his way through a soulful ballad with his trademark vocals taking front and center with the support a slide guitar, fiddle, and acoustic-driven melody.

“When I get lost in the wheels you go on and say goodbye

I can’t seem to settle down (Lord) so I don’t even try

I gave a lover, my heart

Jesus, my soul

Left my mind up for wanderin’ and my spirit to the road”

Drake spent the bulk of 2022 extensively touring the US and beyond in support of his studio album, ‘THE OPTIMYSTIC’.  The record took his musical culmination of country, soul, and southern rock influences to another level.  He wrapped the year with the release of “Pound Cake”, which was met with praise from fans, respect from fellow artists, and acclaim from critics and media.

Fans can catch Drake at sporadic dates throughout the summer, as he has shows on the calendar scheduled across the country at fairs, festivals, special events, and headlining gigs into mid-September.
