Country songstress Gabby Barrett smashed it out the gate with her debut album Goldmine (and its deluxe version), spawning heavy rotation radio favorites “I Hope,” the 7X platinum #1 “The Good Ones,” and the platinum certified “Pick Me Up.”

To say then that her next chapter is highly anticipated would be a massive understatement. Her fans are clamoring, salivating, and yearning for her sophomore album, which she’s now delivered its first piece of  with “Glory Days.”

The song, co-written by Gabby with Emily Weisband, Seth Mosley, and James McNair, leans into its feel-good, mid-tempo drive to immediately get your head bobbing and shoulders swaying as she embeds refreshing honesty into her voice, embracing the idea of living carefree in the moment and appreciating the simple things as the best things.

She weaves us through each of the verses by tallying everyday things that she’s watching from inside her own four walls, subtly reminding us of what matters most as she sings an open love letter to her better half and the amazing life that they’re building together:

“Watchin' the barefoot babies laughin' and pickin' daisies, catchin' the fireflies in a jar.”

“It's Bible verses in the kitchеn like it's holy ground.”

“Dogs runnin' while the birds arе singin', it's you picking that six-string.”

By expertly crafting the verses in such a way, she sets the strike of the chorus that much stronger as she exuberantly brings us into the right now, holding true to the fact that you don’t have to look back on what used to be to find your glory days when you’re actually living them right here.

“This is as good as it gets, I don't know what I would change

I love this life that we live, I love that smile on your face

No, we ain't gotta look back at all those pictures in frames

And wish it'd all stay the same

'Cause right here, right now I say, "These are the glory days"

There’s a maturity level that everyone naturally reaches in life when they stop striving for something better, and instead, grasp the notion of having everything you already need if you slow down enough to recognize it. Gabby Barrett not only meets the anticipation of her next chapter with “Glory Days” through a bold showcase of her tremendous growth as a person and as a songwriter, but she masterfully challenges us to examine our own lives and learn to appreciate all that we‘ve got through an account of her own current outlook on life.
