Mitchell Tenpenny continues to solidify himself as a true star in country music today, releasing hit after hit much to the approval of fans, fellow artists, and critics alike.  That trend will inevitably continue with the release of his latest single, “We Got History”, available everywhere now via Riser House / Columbia.

We all have a relationship that we look back fondly upon and sometimes wish we still had in our lives.  And even though we know that time is in the past, we re-live those moments in our minds and remember them through bittersweet lenses.

“We Got History” is a tale of memories and realizations, admissions and emotions, lyrically painting a picture of a relationship that was incredibly special and worth remembering.

This song is classic Tenpenny – a country track with acoustic rock elements revealing a somber tone perfectly accompanying his subdued yet quietly powerful vocal ability.  Creative, thought-provoking lyrics will stay with the listener long after hearing the tune, and Mitchell’s ability to wear his heart on his sleeve is as evident as ever here, with his emotional delivery pulsating through every lyric.  It’s a catchy melody with the adequate rhythm for a hit song to turn up loud, without taking away from the emotional effect of the lyrics and message.

Co-written by Tenpenny along with Andy Albert, Devin Dawson, and Jordan Schmidt, the song follows the #1 hit “Truth About You” and is the newest official radio single from the 20-track album ‘This Is The Heavy’.  With a number of top tracks under his belt and the momentum of his monumental record pushing him forward, Mitchell Tenpenny’s star status is shining brighter with every release and will continue to do so in the months ahead.
