The fairy-tale story that has existed for decades about Nashville is the starving singer-songwriter who plays the honky-tonks and bars up and down Broadway who gets discovered by a label executive and signs to a record deal.  And while that anecdote has been exaggerated excessively over the years, there is perhaps no truer account of such a story in modern country music than Dierks Bentley.

Having worked at The Nashville Network (now Paramount Network) researching old footage of country performances while also honing his craft as a songwriter and performer on Nashville’s world-famous bar and honky-tonk scene, he caught the attention of industry reps, and, well, the rest is history.

His latest single, off his upcoming 10th studio album, “Gold”, encapsulates the “enjoy the ride” vibe about gratitude and appreciation for the trials and tribulations that lead to success.

I got some rust on my Chevy but it’s ready to roll

I got a rhinestone sky and a song in my soul

It ain’t a smooth ride, life, it’s a winding road

Yeah, it might be gravel, but it feels like gold

This is a modern country track with traditional influences that resonate with his fans of all ages and interests, something that continues to make him a household name in the genre.  It follows a trend of life lessons delivered through upbeat, energetic sing-along melodies and lyrics.  It’s another feather in the cap for the Capitol Records Nashville artist, and another soon-to-be fan-favorite for the country music community.

Dierks’ “Beers On Me” tour has enjoyed renowned success this year, which also features Ashley McBryde and Travis Denning.  One of the biggest stars in country music today, he has tallied a total of 17 number one hits to date, and he is the third youngest artist to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
