Country music songstress Payton Howie is back with a heartfelt, patriotic single just in time for the upcoming holiday.  Released on June 24th, “Keep Her Breathing” is a tribute and ode to thanks to those who have fought for our freedom.  It is a sentiment that can never be mentioned enough, and the acknowledgement of life, liberty and the pursuit of patriotism that this song encapsulates is exactly what we all need right now.

This track is a self-proclaimed effort to empower the American people, and also, whether intended or not, it can also serve as a form of unification.  This country is at a crossroads with many different policies and life events that often divide us.  Music is a healer and a teacher, and “Keep Her Breathing” can be both of those to all that hear it.

Payton’s voice, as usual, is on point, and the emotion, passion, and demeanor with which she sings is crucial for a track of this magnitude.

I’m proud of a true American tradition

Patriotic to the core is how I’m living

They can't take your pride if you don’t give it

I fight to my last breath

To keep her breathing.”

“Keep Her Breathing” follows “Jail and Jesus” and “Country Before Me”, included on her debut EP entitled ‘Youngblood’.  The record garnered the attention of the likes of the Boot, CMT, and others.  She recently completed her 16-city headlining tour this past spring, and is on the road this summer as well playing fairs, festivals, as well as her own gigs across the country from now through the end of the year.
