Elle King and Dierks Bentley have done it again.  The pair, having enjoyed renowned and well-deserved success for their previous release “Different For Girls”, are back with another duet that may just be better than its predecessor.

“Worth A Shot” is a creative play on the words with just enough of every element that makes a great modern country song.  Speaking from a perspective of a couple trying to rekindle the flame that once burned bright and has dimmed over time, Elle and Dierks take turns exploring different ways of re-discovering that connection.

Of course, the subject matter and hook of the entire song is the play on words throughout, “worth a shot” with regards to making the extra effort to make the relationship work as well as it’s “worth a shot” of whiskey as a resolution.

One shot from the top of the shelf

Maybe two, what the hell

‘Cause we’ve been on the rocks

One shot, maybe all that we got

I don’t know about you

But I think it’s worth a shot

The tune finds established and veteran writers Josh Osborne, Ross Copperman, and Shane McAnally in their prime, all of which have the uncanny ability to pen incredibly catchy yet thought provoking songs with the perfect amount of tempo and melody changes to keep the listener entertained throughout.

“Worth A Shot” follows two highly successful singles for King, “Out Yonder” as well as her recent #1 with Miranda Lamber – “Drunk (And I Wanna Go Home)”.  Fans can catch her across the country all summer and fall with headlining gigs and festival appearances scattered amongst support dates on Chris Stapleton’s All American Roadshow tour.

Dierks also has a busy summer ahead of him, as he will kick off his Beers On Me tour in early June with special guests Ashley McBryde and Travis Denning.  The trek will run through mid-September.
