Luke Combs is arguably country music’s biggest star today, and as such, that automatically makes the release of this third studio album Growin’ Up (out June 24) one of country music most highly anticipated releases of 2022.

As “Doin This” continues to make a major impact on the charts, Combs now further teases his forthcoming album with the release of “Tomorrow Me.”

While he’s certainly been able to kiss the rock edge of his country borders on songs such as “Cold as You” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” “Tomorrow Me” slides directly into that softer side that he’s done so well on songs such as “Better Together” and “Beautiful Crazy.”

Co-written by Combs with Dean Dillon and Ray Fulcher, “Tomorrow Me” focuses lyrically on having to make the tough decision between heart and head when an ex keeps coming back around and pulling him back in despite the outcome always leaving him broken hearted over and over, again and again.

Conflicting his emotions through a confession after receiving a telephone call from her, he sings straight to her “I know what you want, and I want it too,” before sliding into the line that sets the entire song in motion; “problem is what’s wrong with it’s the bigger issue.”

From here, Combs then wraps us through a series of why they can’t keep doing this to each other, ultimately because of the way it always makes him feel the next day if they do:

Tomorrow me ain’t gonna like the way things go tonight.”

I’ll be picking up the pieces if we go that far.”

I know how it’s gonna end, just like It always ends.”

Whenever Luke Combs dips into his softer side, he always allows all the necessary amount of room for his very strong vocal to lean into the emotion of the lyrics and deliver a song that strikes the chord with the vast majority of the country music listening audience.

He’s done that again with “Tomorrow Me,” and he’s taken the already heightened anticipation for his forthcoming album to an incredible new height which is a surefire sign that he will remain on top throughout 2022.
