With his debut EP Already Gone, and the success of his subsequent song releases “Moon Over Georgia” and “She Got a Thing,” Seth Michael impacted country music in a big way and created a substantial amount of buzz that has surrounded him ever since

He now returns with his highly anticipated new single “Bout To Be.”

Co-written by Michael with Trey Spears, Jacob Hackworth, and Gabe Walsh, the catchy summer tilted song provides the perfect sway along groove that’s become synonymous with today’s modern country radio to give the song an immediate vibe that will have it quickly getting added to those weekend party playlists.

Michael’s very clean vocal pushes you into the opening verse as he captures the Friday feel by singing of clocking out of work, cashing that paycheck, cranking up the music, and heading out of town with an ice chest full of Natural Ice.

He uses the familiar themes we’ve grown accustomed to in the descriptions that bring us to the Friday night get together as he sings through a chorus that takes him knee deep into a hayfield where he’s playing beer pong, etc. but he slightly turns the corner into a different angle when he also sings of spotting a girl that he’s crushing on who’s clad in camouflage and dancing in the field.

A well-placed breakdown that leads into the bridge of the song just before it hits the final chorus allows plenty of room for an audience participation moment, making this song a natural fit for a n energetic live show.

The good time, Friday night lyric really isn’t anything too new to country music these days, but it doesn’t diminish the fact that the catchiness of the melody combines perfectly with the vocal delivery to immediately capture your attention and hold you throughout the song as you bop along.

Where Seth Michael really allows this song to shine, though, is that most of it is told from the perspective of looking forward to the night that’s still ahead - the countdown if you will - rather than it already being in the middle of the moment which helps separate this song from so many of the others with a similar topic.
