Grindstone Records artist and acclaimed singer/songwriter Craig Campbell has released his latest single, “by God”, on Friday, February 25^th.  The song choice was as result of something that has become somewhat common for this generation’s music artists – a positive reaction on social media.

Campbell performed the song on TikTok to simply gauge interest from fans, and the overwhelming response led him to release the song to the masses.

Co-written with longtime friends and collaborators Thomas Archer and Jordan Walker, “by God” is one of Campbell’s most powerful songs to date, following in the high-impact tunes like “Outskirts of Heaven,” “Family Man,”, and “Outta My Head”.

This new tune follows the trend of what makes Craig one of the more respected musicians not just in country music, but across all genres.  Following the “road less travelled” while balancing between traditional values and modern industry hype, Campbell has remained very relevant in a music world that is fueled by overnight success and being the hottest new trend.  The Lyons, Georgia native has instead relied on his talent, his patience, and upbringing, playing piano and singing in church.

“by God” is a true story about a traditional way of life.  It tells the tale of growing up and living, learning, and what it’s like living in a small town. 

“We’re just back road riding, riverbank sitting

Porch flag flying, cold beer sipping

That’s just life when you’re small town living

Doing alright with all we’ve been given by God”

But this song is a lot more than just the lyrics.  It is about the authenticity and legitimacy that this is how Craig grew up, and his passion for traditional values shines through on the track through his vocal delivery, just as it always has his entire career.

His “Craig Campbell Tour, by God” tour kicks off March 4^th with the first leg wrapping April 9^th.
