While his latest single “Bye Mom” continues to make an impact on the charts, Chris Janson has just announced details on his next album (scheduled to release in the Spring 2022) and has given us another taste of it with the release of its title track, “All In.”

The mid-tempo driven melody allows Janson to stay firmly in his wheelhouse while giving us the exact type of song that we want from him at this stage of his career as he continues to stay completely transparent with his lyrics.

He opens with comparative lines that allows the listener to quickly understand his right down the middle of the road attitude by singing lines such as:

“I’m a little lakeshore

A little bit sand

I’m a little bit fast car

Little pick up man

I’m a little bit Georgia

I’m a little Tennessee”

However, Janson completely flips the script when we hit the chorus as he comes out the first verse on the back of a line that sings “But there wasn’t no halfway, first time you looked at me,” as the chorus then unravels how meeting “the one” is the only thing that’s made him 100% certain about anything and has him going “all in.”

He utilizes the second verse to paint a picture of her as he remembers exactly what she was wearing (little green dress and boots) and her attitude (honeysuckle sweet, but wildfire wild), but masterfully slides in the line “Baby, I could see my future, first time I seen you smile” – a line that comes back around later in the song as he sings of being down on one knee and not being able to wait to say I do.

Complete honesty in lyrics is something that Chris Janson has done throughout his entire career, but it’s also the factor that’s made him and his music so relatable. He continues doing this with “All In” as he gives us another perfect Polaroid snapshot into who he is in his personal life, which makes this another song in his arsenal that feels like we’re swapping stories with a longtime friend.
